Here’s what you should know:
1. The design equips endoscopic forceps with OmniVision’s OVM6948 CameraCubeChip camera module, which includes a CMOS image sensor and built-in wafer-level lens.
2. The OVM6948 is incorporated directly into the prototype to help avoid longer procedure times, patient discomfort, complications and the risk of an incomplete therapeutic procedure.
3. The OVM6948 can be sterilized for disposable devices and is tested for bio-compatibility. The tool is kept cool through low power consumption.
4. OmniVision’s OmniBSI+ pixel architecture features a resolution of 200 x 200 at 30 frames per second.
5. The design of standard endoscopes can impede visibility of the target region, provide a shadowed image or give a misleading view of the tool. This is because CMOS camera at the distal tip of standard endoscopes is spatially offset and positioned behind the working channel.
