Olympus introduces new single use aspiration needle: 4 notes

Olympus introduced the FDA-cleared EZ Shot 3 Plus single use aspiration needle.

Here are four notes:

1. The needle is intended for endoscopic ultrasonically-guided fine needle aspiration.

2. The needle is designed for gastroenterologist to use with an ultrasound endoscope for EUS-FNA of submucosal and extramural lesions within the gastrointestinal tracts.

3. Providers used endoscopic ultrasonically-guided fine needle aspiration in cases that require the needle to be inserted into difficult-to-access locations, such as the pancreatic head.

4. The EZ Shot 3 Plus needle features shape memory and enhanced puncturability and flexibility.
