Olympus extends DDW EndoTherapy Solutions portfolio: 3 key notes

Olympus is extending the EndoTherapy Solutions portfolio it’s displaying at Digestive Disease Week, May 6 through May 9 in Chicago.

Here’s what you should know.

1. Olympus is debuting its new Sphincterotomes and Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection knife at DDW.

2. SB Knife Monopolar ESD Knife, an electrosurgical knife, is a scissors-type device providers use in ESD to remove early gastric cancers that haven’t entered the muscle layer. The knife will allow surgeons to perform en-bloc large lesion resection.

3. Olympus will also debut the CleverCut3V Distal Wireguided Oblique Tip and the CleverCut3V Distal Wireguided Short Bend Tip. Olympus designed the first sphincterotome to align the sphincterotome axis to the bile duct to improve cannulation success while reducing unintended pancreatic duct manipulation.

The second sphincterotome provides surgeons a closer approach papilla approach while allowing for cannulation in sub-optimal scope positions.
