North Carolina endoscopy unit wins ASGE certificate in recognition of quality

Seven-physician Gastroenterology Associates Endoscopy Unit in Hickory, N.C. was recognized for quality by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Hickory Daily Record reported Dec. 12.

The 3,500-square-foot Gastroenterology Associates Endoscopy Center is the only endoscopy facility in the area to receive the society’s certificate of recognition, according to the Daily Record.

The center, which has three procedure rooms, six preparation rooms and six recovery rooms, has been recognized by the society since 2009.

“At Gastroenterology Associates, patient safety comes first with each patient and with every procedure,” Kristin Brown, BSN, RN, director of endoscopic services told the Daily Record. “Our team of physicians and staff are dedicated to setting the standard for safe, quality patient care, and we have worked hard to develop best practices to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.”
