Albany (N.Y.) Gastroenterology Consultants has notified the Maine Attorney General about a data breach impacting more than 57,000 individuals, according to a Sept. 24 report from The HIPAA Journal.
The organization’s access to one of its computer systems was disrupted Nov. 19, 2024, when it noticed unusual network activity.
An investigation confirmed the unauthorized access to its network and that the threat actor accessed and acquired certain personal information Nov. 10, 2024.
The breach was first disclosed in January 2025 and the file review was completed Sept. 17, 2025. Names and Social Security numbers were among the personal information affected in the breach.
Albany Gastroenterology Consultants is not aware of any misuse of the personal information, the report said.
