  1. Hickory, N.C.-based Frye Regional Medical Center, a Duke Lifepoint facility, added gastroenterology services.
  2. Morris (Ill.) Hospital & Healthcare Centers opened a new gastroenterology practice and welcomed its first specialist, Afreen Hyder, MD.
  3. Los Angeles-based UCLA Health was gifted $25 million from UCLA alumna and former chair of the UCLA Foundation board Shirley Wang and her husband, Walter, for its new digestive health center.
  4. Pinnacle Gastroenterology is expected to open a multi-physician gastroenterology practice in a building that housed the now-shuttered Arkansas Diagnostic Center of Little Rock.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
