Dr. Gross posed four questions to consider when forming an opinion on new optical and mechanical enhancements in the colonoscopy field.

1. Is optical or mechanical colonoscopy enhancement necessary for every endoscopist?
2. Should these advances in technology only be used by endoscopists who are below adenoma detection rate benchmarks?
3. Are optical improvements or mechanical improvements more advantageous?
4. Do the cost implications of these new technologies lead to improved outcomes?
