Nelson Lab, Healthmark introduce kit for duodenoscope testing: 3 points

Nelson Laboratories and Healthmark Industries have introduced an Endoscope Sampling Kit.

Here are three points:

1. The kit is intended for the random testing of duodenoscopes in compliance with CDC guidelines.

2. Healthcare providers and workers can use the kit to gather samples from reprocessed endoscopes. The samples are then sent to Nelson Laboratories to determine the presence or absence of objectionable microorganisms.

3. The kit and related tests are intended to help assess the adequacy of healthcare facility scope reprocessing. They are not intended as a ‘safety assessment’ for the reprocessed scope.
