Motus GI scores CE Mark approval for colonoscopy prep device — 3 things to know

Motus GI gained CE Mark approval for its GEN2 Pure-Vu System, a colonoscopy device designed to facilitate the cleaning of a poorly prepared colon, according to a March 27 announcement.

Three things to know:

1. Planning to commercialize the Pure-Vu System and its disposable sleeves, Motus is exploring partnerships with established medical device companies and commercial distributors in the European Union.

2. An estimated 1.2 million inpatient colonoscopies are performed in the EU each year, Motus GI CEO Tim Moran said in a press release.

3. Motus GI’s GEN2 Pure-Vu System is intended to minimize delayed and incomplete colonoscopies, improve exam quality and increase the number of adequately cleansed patients.
