Medigus gets Japanese patent for miniature camera technology

Medigus has been awarded a Japanese patent for its miniature camera — the micro ScoutCam.

The micro ScoutCam has a 1.2mm lens diameter and uses complementary metal oxide semiconductor-based lenses. This patent is the first received by Medigus for its micro camera technology.

"We are pleased with this newly granted patent for multiple claims, which is the first one for our microvisualization technology of such small diameter. We are committed to further developing the patent holdings over our proprietary technology, which we continually seek to enhance with the latest miniaturization and visualization advancements to deliver innovative new solutions for a broad scale of unmet needs in medical, industrial and other scientific applications," said Chris Rowland, CEO of Medigus.

The patent will be valid until Sep. 16, 2030.
