Here’s what you should know:

1. Lake Regional is absorbing Dr. Byrne’s clinic. The clinic will change its name from The Lake’s Liver and Digestive Health Center to Lake Regional Gastroenterology.

2. Lake Regional Health System named Dr. Bryne it’s 2017 Physician of the Year.

3. He earned his medical degree from Kansas City (Mo.) University and completed his residency at Lincoln-based University of Nebraska.

4. Dr. Byrne is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology and American College of Physicians.
