Inconvenient no more — Partnership makes GI guidelines easier to use

MDCalc and The American College of Gastroenterology launched online, interactive summaries of clinical guidelines.

Here’s what you should know:

1. MDCalc and ACG launched the first 11 summaries at ACG 2018, Oct. 5-10 in Philadelphia.

2. The guidelines are presented in a searchable, succinct format. They are broken down by disease stage and workup options and accompanied by visual icons on the strength of the recommendations.The guidelines also feature custom links that take providers straight to the full guideline.

3. Physicians said inconvenience was the No. 1 reason they didn’t use guidelines regularly, according to a New England Health Institute report.
