Imaging Fails to Reduce Injury During Gallbladder Surgery, Study Says

A recent study found intraoperative imaging did not reduce the risk of common-duct injury during gallbladder removal surgery, according to a MedPage Today report.

Researchers viewed 92,000 cases and found the injury rate was 0.21 percent when imaging was used compared with 0.36 percent for procedures without cholangiography.
