Dr. Gupta has specific expertise in the evaluation and management of patients with a family history of colorectal cancer, including individuals with family cancer syndromes such as Lynch syndrome and familial adenomatous polyposis. He also has expertise in the management of complex polyps. His research work has included randomized controlled trials examining strategies to increase screening rates for colorectal cancer.
Dr. Gupta earned his medical degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco. He has also completed fellowships in gastroenterology at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and the University of California San Francisco.
