GI physician leader to know: Dr. Mark Tanker of Philadelphia Gastroenterology Consultants

Mark S. Tanker, DO, is a gastroenterologist practicing with Philadelphia Gastroenterology Consultants and a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He serves as co-medical director of Einstein at Elkins Park as well as medical director of the PGC Endoscopy Center for Excellence. He is also a member of the Board of Overseers of the Philadelphia-based Albert Einstein Healthcare Network.

Dr. Tanker is an attending physician at Albert Einstein Medical Centers in Philadelphia and Elkins Park, Pa. He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Physicians and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. His clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease and liver diseases.

Dr. Tanker earned his medical degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia. He completed a GI fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Educational Foundation and Cleveland Clinic Hospital.
