GI physician leader to know: Dr. James Franciosi of Nemours

James Franciosi, MD, is a pediatric gastroenterologist practicing with Orlando-based Nemours Children’s Health System, where he serves as associate chief of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Nemours Children’s Hospital. His clinical interests include intestinal failure and short bowel syndrome.

Dr. Franciosi is also actively involved in research. His primary research focus is in pediatric eosinophilic esophagitis, its outcome measures, epidemiology and clinical trials. His research also includes inflammatory bowel disease clinical trials. He has had his work published in a number of professional journals, including the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and Journal of Immunology.

Dr. Franciosi earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and completed his residency and fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
