Chicago-based GI Partners of Illinois has announced a partnership with Athelas to implement its AI-powered RCM services.

The deal will allow GI Partners, the state’s largest independent, physician-led gastroenterology practice, to integrate Athelas’ platform into its network, automating claims processing, reducing denials and improving overall revenue cycle performance, according to an April 1 news release shared with Becker’s.

The deal was facilitated between Samantha Shapiro of Athelas and Dr. Geogy Vennikandam, COO of GI Partners of Illinois.

“At GI Partners of Illinois, we are constantly seeking innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and patient care,” Dr. Vennikandam said in the release. “By partnering with Athelas, we are embracing the future of AI-powered revenue cycle management, which will allow us to focus more on clinical excellence while ensuring financial sustainability.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
