GI leader to know: Dr. Stefano Guandalini of University of Chicago Medicine

 
Stefano Guandalini, MD, is a professor emeritus of pediatrics at University of Chicago Medicine.

Dr. Guandalini created the University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center, and is a past president of the Federation of International Societies for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

He is also the founder and president of the North American Society for the Study of Celiac Disease. In 2012, he received the “master of pediatrics” honor from the Italian Society of Pediatrics.
