GI leader to know: Dr. Ramon Rivera of the University at Buffalo Department of Medicine

Ramon E. Rivera, MD, is the gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition chief at the University at Buffalo Department of Medicine.

Dr. Rivera is an assistant professor and mentors physicians in training.

His research interests include interventional endoscopy and interventional endoscopic ultrasound.

Dr. Riviera earned his medical degree from the Universidad IberoAmericana, and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the Jefferson, La.-based Ochsner Clinic Foundation.
