GI leader to know: Dr. Patrick Northup of UVA Health

Patrick G. Northup, MD, is the director of the gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship program at UVA Health in Charlottesville, Va.

Dr. Northup serves as a consultant to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health. His clinical practice includes cirrhosis, upper GI endoscopy and liver transplants.

Dr. Northup is a recipient of the 2007 American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases Jan Albrecht award for clinical research.
