GI leader to know: Dr. Michael Brown of the Center for Colon & Digestive Care

Michael Brown, MD, is a gastroenterologist at Madison, Ala.-based Center for Colon & Digestive Disease.

Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from Birmingham-based University of Alabama. He completed an internship and residency at Madison-based University of Wisconsin and a fellowship at Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University.

He introduced the gastroscopic method of gastrostomy tube placement to the Madison and Huntsville, Ala., areas.

Dr. Brown is an American College of Physicians and American College of Gastroenterology fellow.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Brown enjoys reading, swimming, fossil collecting and spending time with his family.
