GI leader to know: Dr. Kenneth Vega of the Medical College of Georgia Department of Medicine

Kenneth J. Vega, MD, is the gastroenterology and hepatology division chief at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University.

Dr. Vega is also a medical professor at the Medical College of Georgia.

He has authored more than 60 reviews, original articles and book chapters.

In 2013, Dr. Vega retired from the U.S. Army National Guard after three overseas deployments, during which he provided medical support for Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
