GI leader to know: Dr. Karen Woods of Houston Methodist Gastro Associates

Karen Woods, MD, is a gastroenterologist at Houston Methodist Gastro Associates.

Dr. Woods specializes in therapeutic endoscopy.

After earning her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, she completed an internship and residency at Houston-based Baylor College. She completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Dallas-based University of Texas and a therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at Baylor.

Dr. Woods is an American College of Gastroenterology and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy fellow.

She previously served on the FDA Advisory Panel for gastroenterology and urology.
