GI leader to know: Dr. John Litchfield of Palmetto Digestive Health Specialists

John Litchfield, DO, is a gastroenterologist at Charleston, S.C.-based Palmetto Digestive Health Specialists.

Dr. Litchfield specializes in colorectal cancer prevention, inflammatory bowel disease and upper GI tract diseases.

He earned his medical degree from Lewisburg-based West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency and his fellowship at Johnson City-based East Tennessee State University.

Dr. Litchfield is American Board of Internal Medicine certified.

He is an American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association and South Carolina Gastroenterology Association member.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Litchfield enjoys surfing, playing soccer, biking, fishing and hiking with his wife and five-year-old son.
