John W. Birk, MD, is the gastroenterology division chief and director of the gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship program at Farmington, Conn.-based UConn Health.

Dr. Birk is an American College of Gastroenterology fellow. His research interests include endoscope design and GI bleeding. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
