GI leader to know: Dr. Jean-Pierre Raufman of the University of Maryland School of Medicine

Jean-Pierre Raufman, MD, is the gastroenterology and hepatology division head at the Baltimore-based University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Dr. Raufman is also the Moses Paulson, MD, and Helen Golden Paulson Chair in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

He is the author of 150 original papers and over 25 book chapters and is an American Society for Clinical Investigation member.

Dr. Raufman is a member of the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center Program in Oncology’s Molecular and Structural Biology Program.

His research focuses on gastrointestinal regulatory molecules and signal transduction.
