GI leader to know: Dr. James Grendell of NYU Winthrop Hospital

James H. Grendell, MD, is the gastroenterology division chief at Mineola, N.Y.-based NYU Winthrop Hospital.

Dr. Grendell is a medical professor at the State University of New York Stony Brook School of Medicine.

His clinical interests include treating pancreas diseases, inflammatory bowel disease and nutritional disorders.

Dr. Grendell received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, completed his internship and residency at Boston-based Beth Israel Hospital, and underwent a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California San Francisco.
