He received his medical degree from Srinagar, Kashmir-based Government Medical College, and completed an internship at Barberton Citizens Hospital. He completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Detroit-based Wayne State University hospitals.
Dr. Mir is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the Summit County Medical Society and is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
He also is an Assistant Clinical Professor of the Rootstown, Ohio-based Northeastern Ohio Medical University, and is the president of Summit Gastroenterology Associates.
Dr. Mir’s interests include the use of advanced endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Spyglass cholangioscopy, endoscopic ultrasound and double balloon enteroscopy in the management of diseases of the biliary tract, pancreas and small bowel.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Mir’s interests include community service, global human liberties and charitable and humanitarian projects.
