GI leader to know: Dr. Fred Fowler of Carolina Digestive

Fred Fowler, MD, is a gastroenterologist at Charlotte, N.C.-based Carolina Digestive.

After earning his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C., he completed a residency and fellowship at Gainesville-based University of Florida.

Dr. Fowler specializes in gastroenterology and hepatology. He has a keen passion for research.

Outside of his practice, he is married with two children. He enjoys running, gardening, home improvement and history.
