After earning his medical doctorate from the New York State Board of Regents, he completed a residency at Baltimore-based Union Memorial Hospital and a fellowship at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University.
He serves on the board of three Kansas-area hospitals.
He is a past chair of medicine at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.
