After earning his medical degree from Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic, he completed a residency at Iowa City-based University of Iowa before returning to the Mayo Clinic for his fellowship.
Dr. Scholtz specializes in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
He joined Charlotte Gastroenterology & Hepatology’s medical team in 1999 and has practiced there since. He is a past medical director and chairman of Charlotte, N.C.-based Novant Presbyterian Medical Center.
Dr. Scholz is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, among others.
