GI leader to know: Dr. David Piccoli of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

David A. Piccoli, MD, is chief of the division of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Piccoli is hospital's director of the Biesecker Pediatric Liver Center and the Fred and Suzanne Biesecker endowed chair in pediatric liver disease. He is a co-director of the Joint Center for Digestive, Liver and Pancreatic Diseases, a collaboration of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. .

In his clinical practice, Dr. Piccoli treats children with chronic bowel and liver disorders.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Piccoli has served as a professor of pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Perelman School of Medicine.
