GI leader to know: Dr. David Lieberman of the Oregon Health & Science University

David Lieberman, MD, is the gastroenterology department chief at Portland-based Oregon Health & Science University. He has served in the role since 1998.

Dr. Lieberman is a past president of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and served as an associate editor for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

He is a chair of the CDC and American Cancer Society task force on colorectal cancer screening.

Dr. Lieberman earned his medical degree from Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan.
