GI leader to know: Dr. Daniel Podolsky of UT Southwestern Medical Center

Daniel Podolsky, MD, is president of Dallas-based University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, a position he’s held since 2008.

His previous positions include chief of gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital, chief academic officer at Partners HealthCare System and Mallinckrodt professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, all based in Boston.

In 1991, while working at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Podolsky established the Center for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

He is a former editor-in-chief of Gastroenterology, and former president of the American Gastroenterological Association.

Dr. Podolsky is a National Academy of Medicine member.
