GI leader to know: Dr. Allan Coates of Gastroenterology Associates of Western Michigan

Allan Coates, DO, is a gastroenterologist at Wyoming-based Gastroenterology Associates of Western Michigan.

Dr. Coates received his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the De Moines (Iowa) University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

He completed his internal medicine residency at Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Metropolitan Hospital.

Dr. Coates completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan.

His clinical interests include esophageal motility disorders, inflammatory bowel disease and chronic liver disease.
