GI leader to know: Barbara Jung of the University of Illinois-Chicago

Barbara H. Jung, MD, is division chief of gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Jung’s clinical focus includes the diagnosis and management of patients with Lynch and polyposis syndromes. She runs a clinical and tissue registry to study high–risk Gi cancers, as well as a lab studying colon cancer progression and metastasis.

Dr. Jung is a recipient of the Thomas J. Layden endowed professorship in digestive and liver diseases.
