Asheville (N.C.) Gastroenterology Associates and its 17 gastroenterologists provide gastroenterology services to Asheville and its surrounding communities.

The facility features its own endoscopy center, which is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and The Joint Commission. The Endoscopy Center opened in 1991 as the first privately owned ambulatory endoscopy center in the state. Several centers developed since were modeled after The Endoscopy Center.

The center was also recognized as part of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy's quality recognition program.

Asheville Gastroenterology Associates has been highly active in the research arena. Since 1996, the center has participated in more than 100 drug and clinical device trials.
