Gastrologix and the Digestive Health Network developed GastroAssure, a medical professional liability insurance platform for independent gastroenterology-focused practices.
What you should know:
1. Seven independent practices own the insurance platform. The groups developed the platform with insurance company Curi and broker Arthur J. Gallagher.
2. GastroAssure offers independent practices access to liability coverage similar to that of commercial medical professional liability carriers. Participating in the platform will grant practices access to stabilized or decreased premiums and administrative costs.
3. Participants will also be able to insure ancillary business through the platform.
"Having more control over medical liability insurance will help independent practices thrive. GastroAssure is a great example of what can be achieved when independent GI practices come together to lower costs and create opportunities to build assets that can generate revenue," said Gastrologix Principal Stephen Somers.
