The average monthly gastroenterology case volume at ASCs in 2024 reached 176, up from 167 in 2023, according to HST Pathways’ latest “State of the Industry Report.“
The report surveyed 590 ASCs in 47 states.
Here are five more key insights
1. At 59.6%, gastroenterology had the highest operating room block utilization among specialties in the surveyed ASCs.
2. The average recovery time for gastroenterology procedures in 2024 was 26.1 minutes, up from 23.3 minutes in 2023.
3. The average operating room turnover time for gastroenterology was 13.2 minutes, with an average OR duration of 19.8 minutes.
4. Gastroenterology’s average days to bill decreased to 4.1 days in 2024, compared to 5.8 days in 2023.
5. The average net revenue per gastroenterology case increased to $1,362 in 2024, up from $1,333 in 2023.
