Gastroenterologist to know: Dr. Andrew Muir of Duke University School of Medicine

Andrew J. Muir, MD, is the chief of the gastroenterology division at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C. He is also a member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute.

Dr. Muir’s clinical interests include hepatitis C, primary sclerosing cholangitis, cirrhosis, liver transplantation, clinical trials, healthcare disparities in liver disease and outcome research. He has working relationships with several medical companies, including AbbVie, Gilead Sciences, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inovio, Cook Medical and others.

Dr. Muir earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency and fellowship.
