Here’s what you should know:

1. Dr. Webster jointed TMH in 1980. Dr. Webster alleged the health system began discriminating against him in September 2015.

2. He alleged the hospital took away his medical privileges, and denied him access to other medical staff members. He also claimed the hospital imposed obligations on him for treating indigent patients that weren’t imposed on white physicians.

3. Dr. Webster alleged because he sees a number of Medicaid patients, he was excluded from the hospital’s on-call roster, preventing him from seeing patients in need of GI consultation. He alleged the hospital terminated his staff privileges under the pretext he failed to meet his on-call responsibilities.

4. The hospital said in a prepared statement, “Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare addresses all issues, including lawsuits, in a very serious manner. However, we cannot comment on any specific pending litigation.”
