Gastroenterologist Dr. Mahesh Karamchandani Discusses Importance of Colonoscopy in Local Publication

Mahesh Karamchandani, MD, a gastroenterologist at Colon and Rectal Surgery Center, based in Battle Creek, Mich., writes about the importance of screening colonoscopy in an article for the Battle Creek Enquirer.

The article discusses a recent study on the value of screening colonoscopy in reducing the death rate associated with colon and rectal cancer, provides guidelines for when patients should receive the procedure and offers some lifestyle changes to help reduce the risk of colorectal cancer.

 

Dr. Karamchandani is a member of the Calhoun County Cancer Control Coalition, a “group of individuals working together to reduce the cancer burden in Calhoun County (Mich.) through community collaboration,” according to its website.
