Gastroenterologist Dr. Irving Pike Named CMO of CA’s John Muir Health

Gastroenterologist Irving Pike, MD, has been named the chief medical officer of John Muir Health based in Concord, Calif., according to a San Francisco Business Times report.

Dr. Pike, who was named to Becker’s ASC Review’s125 Gastroenterologists to Know” in 2011, has practiced gastroenterology in Virginia Beach, Va., since 1983. He spent the previous 12 years as a physician executive at Sentara Healthcare based in Norfolk, Va.

 

He earned his MD from Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta and completed his residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and his fellowship at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. His special interests are endoscopic management of biliary and pancreatic disease, inflammatory bowel disease and the prevention of colon cancer.
