Gastroenterologist appointed to patient engagement committee

Simon Mathews, MD, has been appointed to the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute’s advisory panel on patient engagement.

The panel’s purpose is to help guide patient engagement standards. Dr. Mathews is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association’s government affairs committee and the AGA congressional advocates program.

He also serves as assistant director at the Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality.
