What you should know:

1. Puget Sound has served Washington for more than 25 years. The practice formed after three gastroenterology groups in the area merged in 2004.

2. The deal includes Puget Sound’s practices, four ASCs, and 24 physicians and support staff. Puget Sound CEO Rachel Todd will continue overseeing the practice, under the new title division vice president of Washington.

3. Puget Sound serves several Washington communities, including Edmonds, Kirkland, and the Seattle neighborhoods Fremont and Northgate.

“Our new partnership helps ensure we will remain a strong, premier practice no matter what’s on the horizon,” said PSG Board Vice President Russ Arjal, MD.

4. This is Gastro Health’s second out-of-state acquisition. The company acquired Southeast Gastro in Birmingham, Ala., in April. Gastro Health was the first GI practice to take on a private equity partner.
