A new study has found that fecal immunochemical testing can help predict mucosal healing in ulcerative colitis patients, according to a Medscape report.
Fecal calprotectin tests are often used to determine mucosal healing, but these tests can be expensive. The researchers found FIT and Fcal performed similarly. FIT costs approximately $22, while Fcal can cost approximately $180, according to the report.
