FDA clears marketing of additional feature for NvisionVLE Imaging System: 4 points

FDA is allowing NinePoint Medical to market the Real-time Targeting feature for its flagship product, the NvisionVLE Imaging System.

Here are four points:

1. The NvisionVLE Imaging System uses proprietary Optical Coherence Tomography technology that allows physicians to perform a Volumetric Laser Endomicroscopy procedure.

2. The system enables gastroenterologists to evaluate tissue for potential disease that may not be visible with conventional medical imaging technologies.

3. The additional Real-time Targeting feature allows physicians to both locate as well as mark areas of interest.

4. The first procedures with the system and the new Real-time Targeting feature were performed at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
