Exact Sciences’ 2nd facility to top $300M — 4 insights

Exact Sciences is opening up the wallet and spending $300 million-plus to construct its second facility in Madison, Wis., the Wisconsin State Journal reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. Exact is expanding its processing lab and building an entirely new lab, office and parking center on an existing site in Madison.

2. The company is also expanding two buildings at its existing facility in Madison.

3. Exact has already doled out $50.9 million in contracts for the first phase of its project. It’ll hand out $256.8 million more by the end of 2019.

4. The project will allow Exact to process up to 5 million Cologuard tests annually. Exact can currently process 4.5 million Cologuard tests annually.
