Here are four points:

1. The GutCheck System records the electrical signals that naturally occur in the digestive tract and patterns of intestinal contractions and movements in individuals who undergo surgery.

2. The system is comprised of a wireless, wearable, disposable patch and an application.

3. The clinical trail aims to study the system’s efficacy in identifying differences in the patterns of patients who develop an ileus and patients who have normal return of GI activity following surgery.

4. The two-year trial is expected to enroll 80 study participants at El Camino Hospital.
