Durham, N.C.-based Duke Health is planning to open a gastrointestinal endoscopy center that was originally approved in 2019, according to a May 22 report from Triangle Business Journal.
The project, located in Cary, N.C., was supposed to open in 2022, but was delayed due to disruptions related to COVID-19 and organizational changes.
When the health system first submitted the center for approval, it was expected to cost $3.57 million. In February, Duke Health filed for a cost adjustment up to about $10 million, which was approved by the state regulator.
The facility will have four endoscopy rooms, and is now set to open in June 2027, the report said.
